WD-40 or Liquid Wrench dissolves (or at least moves) Vaseline, but the cure may be worse than the problem if you swab too much on the film (some liquids permanently stain light film.) A general principle in chemistry is "like dissolves like" so maybe some other petroleum distillate product (which WD-40 is) would be better.

And stop putting Vaseline on your models, heh, heh.
