LeRoy,
Thanks for asking! Yes I did receive a detailed reply from Benjamin Saks on
June 4th. You could let me know the accepted method (or your way) of
attaching
the tubes to the motor stick.
As I stated in my original email, "Stringless Wonders" covered with food
wrap are
my planes of choice. I admire the planes on the "Indoor Construction" for
the
technical expertise involved although duration flights are not my thing. In
Sept.
2007 I set up a manufacturing "line" in our kitchen (the better half was
away on
vacation) and was able, using cutting jigs, magnetic boards, glue spreader,
and
forms to make 5 or 6 planes per hour. Behind the prop on the motor stick one
side
is reinforced with a "sister' of baltic plywood (1/128" I think) for 3",
this was done after
seeing too many nose in and break right there. Anyway, to make a short story
even
shorter, these planes generally flew great and far outdoors. I lube the
rubber and use
a toy winder that can be bought wholesale for $2.00. When kids get to use
these planes
they go into that zone we all get in to when flying "my" plane. I think
rubber powered
flight has a bright future, we just can't be sure what it will be.
I wish everyone on board good health, smooth and long flights.

PS From our balcony we watch F 15's take off and land everyday.
