The "Department of Physics Undergraduate Studies Office" and "Society of Women in Physics" sponsor week long program for high school girls called "Girls Reaching to in Sports and Physics" . Twenty-Five girls are accepted into program mainly for from Columbus area applications.

One of the programs is building and flying gliders that weighted approximately 1.2 grams (using CA glue). They hand (dropped) launched them from fifth floor inside Physics building (see pictures). There were number of well built gliders with trimming instructions did nearly minute. Doug Schaefer headed up glider program with assistants of six Physics undergraduates and my self. See links below for plans, instructions, material order list and pictures.

This was second or third year for gliders portion of program. As Doug will be moving from Ohio State to do graduate studies the department would welcome anyone wishing to help. Please PM me if you're interested for contact information. You do get plenty of good help from the experienced Physics undergraduates.
