It was Hack who did the glue bending tests. I remember them like it
was yesterday. We applied duco with acetone, with and without
plasticizer to strips of balsa. The glue without plasticizer caused
the strip to bend more.
I agree with John Kagan, viscocity and quantity are more important.
For small joints where small surface areas are being glued plasticizer
is not critical. However a motorstick seam is long and can suffer
warping from glue. It can however be used to ones advantage to
generate thrust direction.
Hack and I also noticed that grain orientation also affected glue warping.
