Presumably ‘prop braking from about 5m’ means that the propeller was
windmilling; in which case I would interpret things differently. If the
propeller is windmilling then there is not enough torque to drive it round
in which case either the pitch should be lowered (not increased) or, more
likely, the pitch is satisfactory and a fatter rubber motor is required to
increase the torque.
