The plate is quite small and it comes with a small cup (bowl?) that you
place on the plate to contain items you're weighing. I CAed the cup to
the plate on mine and I place a small plastic mixing cup on top of that
for weighing sticks, props, models, etc. Even on my 0.01 gram scale I
need to place a riser of some type on the platform even though it is
reasonably large size. I could send a picture if you're interested.

for my uses i would still prefer the 10mg scale. I don't need the
resolution down to be that accurate. If someone did actually get the 1mg
scale, how big is the plate you weigh on, it looks very small to me
compared to a 10mg scale.
thanks

Ah, you're welcome, and thanks for the information on 1mg scale, did not
know they carry those, the one that I bought is "only" 10mg resolution.
