I did not mean to insult anyone, especially Gary, with my comments on
mylar versus condensor paper. But, I did realize that my comments
could cause some heat and discussion.

I was unclear in my original comments. The issue is not the level of
skill it takes to cover with mylar versus paper; the skill it takes
to cover well with both is about the same. The issue is the lengths
one must go to minimize the warpage caused by the shrinkage of the
condensor paper. No matter how skilled and careful the builder is,
even preshrunk condensor paper will change during future humidity
cycles.

My thought is why introduce this random element into indoor flying of
modern endurance classes when there is a cheap and readily available
substitute covering, mylar film? As an aside, out current mylar
(polyester) film was first made as a (cheaper and technically
superior) replacement for condensor paper in the manufacture of
capacitors. Should not our indoor endurance class rules follow in
the same direction?
