The subject of Mylar in place of jap. and condenser tissues is
interesting. My understanding of the "experiment", is that Mylar
("poly" film) is easier for covering than tissue - friendlier to
beginning modelers.

I didn't find this to be the case when I starting indoor modeling. I
found the films to be far more exasperating - picture getting many
kitchen wraps onto left-overs in plastic containers - than getting
tissue onto models. In my experience with the various coverings each
had a learning curve involved to produce a tolerable finish.

The only mechanical advantage I found for poly films was less
consideration of warpage due to humidity changes.

My thoughts.... Others?

competition and cover it with Mylar. This is not legal under any of
the current rule sets. What I was describing is a local experimental
class.
