Glue stick works great for condenser tissue. Less well with Jap.
tissue. Don't need as much glue when covering with condenser. Although
I've had some success with condenser off the roll, be sure to crinkle
or shrink it as much as possible for wing covering. It reacts with
humidity changes; again, slightly less violently than jap. tissue.

You may want to start with tissue rather than mylar. The latter is less
accepted. As noted by others, A-6 is not an AMA class, so is subject to
various local rules.
