I 100% agree. F1M can be built out of selected hobby-shop wood, even the
thinner (say 0.5mm) sheet needed for rolled fuselage tubes can be quite
easily sanded from thicker sheet, with a sandingblock that has quides to
limit the thickness, using light and repeated strokes to avoid crushing
the wood.

The Moustique, for which drawings and detailed building instructions can
be found on the net, is an excellent starter for F1M class. One of those
under belt, one can proceed to tubular fuselages (Moustique uses a solid
stick), larger tails and longer fuselages.
