I'm perfectly willing to play by whatever rules are in effect. The reason I brought up the Mylar issue is that every person (outside of the established experts) who has ever talked to me about A-6 has asked why they have to be covered with paper. My standard answer is "I don't know. It's just the way it is".

Hopefully this is the last time I will ever use the word "rules" in an online forum.

Isn't that a "big problem" for any event facing a rule change?
Consider the 100s hours of work some F1d flyers had to shelve when
rules changed--no comparison to something as simple as A6 (wah,
  wah..)

I'll take the newcomers any day compared with a half-a-handful of
specialists perfecting the "beginner's event" for a decade or two.
But fortunately, the rules as they exist still attract a few
newcomers. Just don't tell them they won't be competitive with their
first few models--but that's the same story with any model class, eh?

Yep. I had figured A-6 was ripe to be introduced as a provisional AMA
event, but not anymore, what with all the unrest and impending rules
  riots!
