Dear all ,

there were amazing and hard 7 days in Belgrade Hall 1 . Beginning
from temperatures high over 30°c whole week, on first two days of
international contest close to 40°c.
Thankīs to all Serbian coleagues and organizers there was
extraordinary good hospitality and atmosphere in Hall 1 for all 7
days .
Her majesty Hall 1 - 27,62 m high , very tight , even when the 4
ventilation shafts cross positioned on the border of middle copula
circle soak models from middle position and allmost nobody had flown
more than two - three circle in the middle and was pushed for
steering on the beams top .

From my point of wiew the score of succesfull steered and not steered
models at this position was allmost 50:50 beacuse the steering there
was very difficult
and only champions as John Kagan and all his colleagues and Great
Britains colleagues mastered it well . We others fullfilled the score
on the bad 50 % side . It was maybe better to let the model touch the
beton beams and slide few meter down to have enough space for baloon
positioning over model and steer , but from contestant point of wiew
it was sometimes hard to hold cold head and wait . 3 -4 m under the
roof was the best position an there were some amazing flights mainly
from Ivan Treger and Lutz Schramm not higher as this 23-24 m and over
35 min flying times.
Sometimes we havent realised , that the oval form of flying area in
contrast to round form of building and copula pushed us for more
steering along straight part of ground as needed .
Definitely it was victory of VPīs , but meaning that variants with
precise adjustable and accurate trimm. It was amazing for mee to
follow Ivan and Lutz on their exact forecast of flying altitude (
wihout thermal help of condition of course).

So at the and of first part of my impresion , congratulation to all
winners , surelly whole USA team made very good job , but it was
clearly to see , that practice in lover hallīs was advantage against
restraining of models which are learned to fly in airship hangars.

Congratulation to Ivan Treger .
