Indeed. The rules for F1D say that timing stops when the model touches the
floor, or touches another part of the building AND transitional movement
stops (for more than 10 seconds). In other words, a hang-up ends the
flight. But I guess the rule-makers have not considered floors that are so
angled, that model could go on flying after touching the floor (except a
bounce in the start, but that, indeed, is an attempt).
I have arguments on this, over and over again, with one hard-headed
colleque here in Finland, who claims that when a beginners model with a
landing gear rolls on the floor, the flight goes on until the model stops.
Which of course is not the case according to FAI rules.
