I was the ES (event supervisor) but the schedule demand came from
Gerard Putz, prez of SO and Kathy Melvin, SO NATS organizer. They have
the power to overule anything the rules say.

Bill, the winning plane had the angeled tailboom similar to your
design but was different with geodesic wings and stab, a truss
tailboom and molded fins. If flew extremely well and the young woman
stated that it was designed specifically to fly at Nationals. Rumor
has it that a manufacturer is considering buying the design. It might
be nice to see something else besides Freedom Flight airplanes in SO
competition.
