Jerry Combs and Bill Gowen,

I'm sorry to hear that you two will not be at the USIC this year.

My A-6 is a modified Jerry Combs design and I have benefited from the help of both of you.

This year is expected to be the last year that we fly electric duration (Event 221) using the original Bob Wilder rules that specify no more than two 50-mAh Nicads. Next year we should be flying using the proposed new rules by Ray Harlan for Event 221. Ray's rules specify one 10-mAh LiPo cell and should give slower and probably somewhat smaller planes. I'm already trying an old F1M using one 10-mAh LiPo. You guys are likely to prefer the new rules and do much better than me but I have already posted a few 5-minutes test flights.

Bill's F1M record holder or Fred Tellier's Monster might be good candidates to convert to indoor FF electric duration. Lighter and larger are likely to be better but everyone would guess that.

Since I haven't flown all year I'm opting for a week at the beach
instead of going to USIC this year. I hope all of you win and have a
great time. Next year I'll be back to defend my honor! (and hopefully
get my PP and LPP to fly).
