When I tried SO a few ago, experimented and made one wing modeled after
the Gossamer Condor. At the next Kibbie event Jim Richmond pulled an
EZB out of his suitcase with a suspiciously similar airfoil. If not
evolved into an urban legend of time, I think he concurred to the
source of inspiration.
His model flew somewhat better than mine. I attribute the difference in
success to mine also including the successful 'new' "leading edge". I
still find bits of that rib when cleaning the shop (spare bedroom) and
model mausoleums.
Post motivation:
1. Experimentation is good.
2. Experimentation is not always successful.
3. Jim is an experimeter.
4. Originator of the 'banana rib' noted.
