Anyone done any interesting experimental building or flying lately?
I made an experimental low ceiling variable diameter prop, 24" high,
17.7" low, for F1d. Been reading for few years that the hinges can be
canted to effect a more extreme change to low pitch in addition to
diameter. Looks good on paper, but doesn't work at *these* weights, at
least the way I slanted the hinges. I had the tips straight in high D,
but raking back about 1/4" in low, which amounts to (more) pitch
reduction. However, attach the flip loop, and it then wants to fold in
a straight line, not allowing the fold to look the same as did without
flip loop. This amount to crossed forces, squirrely folds, and
couldn't get a smooth run in both diameters at same time. At least the
24" phase looks nice. Already scrapped, however, to use blades for a
different one, without tricks.

PS, Thank you INAV team, nice issue.
