Sorry if I spoke out of turn.

I am not aware of the prior history regarding rules discussion that you
mention.

I would be glad to converse off line, i.e via PM on Yahoo. I may,
however, be disqualified from this discussion as I have a daughter that
still does flying events in SO. Just wanted to put that out in the
open so that everything is above board.

Hope it was OK just to throw some copter specs out there.

I know there is an AMA class for helicopters. The record may be
something like 6 - 8 minutes for a design that is ultra-light and
therefore not suited for SO.

But I think the same basic configuration might work for SO. It has a
vertical motor stick with a prop that turns at the top on a bearing and
a fixed prop at the bottom of the motor stick, but the torque causes
that one to also spin and therefore provide some addiational lift.
