Everyone these days avoids by covering them with film instead of
tissue, which not only buys more weight in wood structure, but avoids
the tissue shrink problem. Ultrafilm or polymicro would be ideal for a
first Manhattan. But OS film, or any of the available indoor films
should be okay. Gitlow book "Flying Indoor Models" has a few designs
more modern than found in the William's book you are apparently using.

Destroyed my Manhattan Cabin by tossing a book in an open box that I
had forgotten was storing the model. Advice, don't do that. Oh well,
the design was VanGorder's "Pieces." Indeed.
