Also keep in mind that the original model most likely didn't have it's
thrust angle set in any super-accurate manner. It gets adjusted to fly
well and then once it sets a record or something and the designer needs
to make a drawing, then comes the "ok, what does that thrust angle look
like?"

To me, "3 degrees" means "a decent amount", i.e. "not straight",
and "more than a little" :)
