Its a fair point. I used the word bracing loosely and perhaps not
correctly. I would suggest that
bracing in the structural sense is a member which provides a structural
advantage. It could be
argued that the diagonal wire across the radius does stiffen the wing
marginally. I have taken the
view that it was solely a cosmetic advantage. I dont like to see film
distorted by changes in the
tip radius. In F1L I have never been challenged on this point but perhaps
that is because the wire
is almost invisible. More thoughts on this will be very welcome.
