Hi Robert, I had a Uncle on my Mothers Side, His name was Alfons He was half cherokee and His indian name sounded like that so they put "Alfons" on the birth Certificate and his Bro was named Gideon and
the others were Agustes because he was born in August. Joseph after a friend. The other 2 children were Women, Belle and Clara. I don't see any disrespect in naming any thing after a Loved One.
