>ULCG is Unlimited catapult launch glider, this means you can fly a
model up to 100 square inches in wing area, thats the only limitation
in design with the exception of the length of the stick for attaching
your rubberband to, thats 6 inches long, you use this stick and
rubber
for launching the model. The model will have a hook and a place to
hold
while stretching the rubber. SCLG is Standard catapult launch glider,
here you have a
wing area limitation of 3x12 inches so anything you can do in that
wing
size is legal. These 2 catagories of glider mean you end up flying
very different gliders for different ceiling heights within those
rules, mostly flapper designs for low ceiling with lower weights and
rigid wing models of higher weight for higher ceilings. There is a
huge
amount of design directions within those 2 different events. HLG,
hand
launch gliders, are limited to the same wing area as a UCLG, the
spinning type is DLG discus launch glider, so far for low ceiling DLG
is not needed as the height to reach the ceiling is lower. DLG
however
is the way to go for higher ceilings from now on.
