Re: Optimum Prop Diameter

I know that my times went up with < .5g EZB's when I cut the diameter
of the prop down from 13" to 12.5" or even less... Larry set the Cat
IV record with a 11.9" prop, if I remember right... Seems to help
more in high sights, and in Cat II or Cat I, I generally use a 13"
prop... seems to flair more, and better suited to lower sites...
This summer I was getting around 25 min at Lakehurst with a 12.5", and
did over 28 right after switching to a 12" prop that weighed about the
same...

Pennyplane props have a 12" maximum diameter which is probably smaller
than the ideal for that class. Some people flying extremely light
EZB's are using pretty small props so maybe they can address that
application.
