mounting wingposts

On our SO models, we sometimes glues the wing posts to a strip of balsa
and mounted it to the stick with small rubber bands (dental bands), easy
to move back and forth or put in some twist to change washin/washout.

Just wonder, instead of a drill, how about a hot wire to make the holes ?
