Larry Coslick actually set 3 new National Records - EZB, AROG and
Manhatten Cabin. I would say that was a great weekend's work!
The hangar doors were open until early afternoon both days. On
Saturday the air inside the hangar was pretty calm even while the
doors were open. The air got really good later in the afternoon after
the doors were closed. Larry put up his 35+ EZB record flight. Max
had problems with his VP and decided to not try for the open rubber
record. He switched to his F1D and put up a 34+. I put up a 20:27 F1M
flight that we at first thought would take the record. Then someone
remembered to deduct prop stop time which put me 2 seconds short. I
made a couple of VP adjustments and put up another flight that spent
a good portion of the flight right under the girders at the roof.
This one landed at 21:49 and will be submitted as a new World Record.
On Sunday there was a lot of wind inside the hangar which made
visiting a lot better idea than flying. After the doors were closed
the ait got better but never really settled completely. Larry did his
2 record flights and I spent the day trying to beat Larry's F1L
record. I topped out at 25:27 which was 20 seconds short of the
record.
It was a great weekend that I'll remember for a long time.
