Ha, Mark may be a lot of things but coy ain't one of them.
I think the basic point is that we aren't going to be able to
schedule around everything. But we can try to avoid some the major
things, in order of priority. Outdoor contests can be on the list,
but they probably aren't at the very top.
- We already have Lakehurst contests on the major summer holidays, so
that's a moot point
- We want to avoid the other major indoor contests (USIC, Moscow,
major regional events, etc.)
- We want something during reasonable summer or fall weather
- We would like to avoid school for at least one of the contests, and
the Jersey beach crowd for the other
- It would be nice to choose one of the record trial weekends in each
month, so we don't have to file any additional paperwork. Romash is
checking on which weekends those are in August.
- Avoiding the Outdoor Nats comes sort of naturally because we want a
gap between Moscow.
- I can't see the freeflight.org calendar because the website appears
to be down currently (blank page)
- A quick look at the AMA calendar shows, first, that they don't have
all the flying events on one calendar (doh). There's a flying event
calendar and a separate Nats calendar. But looking at both of those
I see that there are Outdoor FF events every weekend in August.
Like they say: you can't please anyone any of the time. Or something
like that.
