Lube

Sometime back I saw a reference to Dow-Corning #33 Medium lubricant. I think it was by
Larry Coslick. I acquired a tube from a lubricant warehouse (about $10) and love it. I do thin
it out a little with silicon oil and have found I can't get a regular knot to hold at all. (However,
friends have been able to make it hold with a really convoluted knot). I prelube the knot area
and tie the first overhand and put a tiny bit of thin CA on the outside of the knot and then tie
the second overhand inside of the first. This stuff is very slippery but I have never had a knot
slip doing it this way. Interestingly, the label mentions in several places "not for internal use"?
