I have heard of several flyers who have acquired samples from Union Carbide, I got mine from work, there were 55 gal drums in several places but retirement has dried up the source. They will sell in smaller quantities but the price is a lot higher as the quantity is reduced. Ray Harlan dealt with them a few years back but I forget the prices he told me. Murphy Palmer who we met from S.O. works at the DCX tech centre and did some research on the lube. Chrysler has used it since to 60's for assembly purposes, and it is a glycol based lube ( whatever that means) What attracted me was its price ( free ) I still have enough for the rest of my life but not enough to supply others anymore.
We did some winding tests and feel tests of lubed motors and no one could tell the difference between it and silicone grease and it is safer to use.
I used motors at the last world champs that were made up and stored lubed for several years and they were all good, I just relubed a little and flew them. The motors were just as slippery before I added lube as after, but the way I hurt my motors winding I though a little fresh lube might be good.
If someone has a business and can convince Ucon they might need their product for production they seem quite willing to send a sample for evaluation, this stuff goes a long way for indoor.
There is a silicon grease call Sil glide that some of the Cloudbusters got at a local auto parts chain, I have a tube and have used it but like the Ucon 77 better.

Anyoine interested in pooling resources and maybe getting a drum
of this stuff?
I would be interested in purchasing a moderate quantity of this stuff, if
someone can figure out how to get a gallon. I doubt that there would be enough
interest to divide up a drum.
Fred, what are the major ingredients in this stuff?
I have been using silicone & haven't had any adverse reactions. It is not
that hard to clean off, if used sparingly.
