You will find that applying lube before tying the knot is even better than spit as there is less chance of chaffing the rubber, but reversing the knots may be needed. Also pre lubing the rubber makes the weight more accurate as you don't have to allow for lube weight. I tie F1D motors all at exactly .6 using a scale that reads to .01 gm and never have a problem with overweight.
