I'll probably wind up <g> using C-clamps but thought maybe I could get some nifty ideas from the membership. I like the tripod idea. I have a camera tripod that could be used if it will fit in my shipping box. I supposed it would have to weighted or attached to something sturdier to keep it from being pulled over.

  I've seen a few folks who have stooges and torque meter attached to
  their model boxes. I'll take a few photos of my setup and pass them
  along, but I just use a C-clamp to attach my setup to the available
  table-top. Lincoln Ross has a wooden box which he attaches to a card
  table. He attaches the torque meter to that. This gets the winding up
  high, no bending to wind. It looks more comfortable.

  I've also seen a stooge attached to a folding tripod. Looked sturdy
  and the height adjustment with the tripod looked great.
