A clue, yes, sometimes. But to nail it down positively, probably not,
unless it is one of the early batches of Tan II that went through
iterations of shades. For example, mid 1996 Tan II batches had a
distinct greenish tint compared to others. 8/93 had a couple distinct
shades including kinda "peachy" and yellowish. 7/97 has a color I
haven't seen in others, but but it may have existed in a couple
previous or later batches. (I don't have them all.) Anyhow, seems by
about 2000, the shades became a lot harder, or impossible to tell apart
by sight. But one certain batch can be distinguished by internal
bubbles/delaminations! Probably best to index what you have according
to your own sample tests, if source unknown.
