They are brave! I tried unsuccessfully myself a long time ago and having looked at Jim Richmond's at Kibbie in 05, a vital component is exceptionally fine line to synchronise both blades. I believe that nothing more than a few thou dia will be flexible enough.

A couple of brave souls have gotten interested in VD props lately. In
the process I discovered that the JPG files of the article on Jim
Richmond's VD were not readable. I took those files out of the photos
folder. There are now TIF files in the files section of the article.
The TIF files are readable if you blow them up.
