Thanks to all for the the great suggestions.

Marty and Hack, in referring to stick glue, are you referring to the
purple glue stick that people use to attach Japanese tissue to
framing? It sort of looks like a giant lip balm stick and is sold at
Office Depot. I am not sure if this is one that can be dissolved with
alcohol.

The talc and CA approach sounds promising.

Bill Gowen's idea of permanent gluing of the wing posts and wing
sockets would be a beneficial repair at the contest, after a trim
flight, to prevent inadvertent wing incidence changes during flight.
It makes it a little difficult to transport the plane, but of course,
Bill would be the first to tell you to fix this problem before the
contest.
