I bet the reason for the paper covering is because folks think that
covering with paper is easier than using film. Most modelers are
somewhat familiar with covering models with tissue. The same thinking
likely went behind the SO models which originally required paper covering.

Why are you building an A6 anyway? If you aren't going to compete with
it, why not just cover it with film and have a blast flying with it?

I once built an EZB and covered it with microfilm to get a feeling for
microfilm. I couldn't compete with it, but it was a blast to fly.
