Glider design suggestions needed!

Hello all,

I am a parent / voulnteer in the local science olympiad at my
neighborhood school. The teacher asked me to assist two students that
were working on a baloon launched glider. Their original approach was
a bit of a Frankenstein monster. I had done some balsa modeling when i
was a kid and they were all rubber band powered. As such, the
constructions were pretty stout. Anyway, I could really use some
guidance here to be of most help to these kids... I thank you in
advance for your assistance.
