Sometimes excessive washin on the inboard wing caused by the motor stick twist under high torque will also cause this to happen. On F1D's we often have no washin or a little washout to allow for what the torque provides. Also a little washin in the inboard stab tip seems to help though it might just be this eliminates the chance of the stab tip washing out at launch.

Thanks, Bill, that makes sense. We were using a prop with a higher pitch than we've used
previously. Also, it was sanded to encourage flare, and required a higher launch torque than
previous planes, so maybe that's why we're noticing this more now. And maybe this plane
relies more on the stab tilt to turn than our previous models, I'll have to take a look at it
tomorrow.
Ah, the holiday season is upon us at last - no gym classes in the school gym so we don't
have to fly at 5 am!
