My name is Christopher Singleton (aka CaptainBalsa) and a year ago, I
returned to aeromodeling after an absence of about 12-14 years.

As in the past, I have mixed interests that include R/C, F/F and C/L. As
well, I have lots of things on the building board and although I love
building . . . I still hate covering.

What pulled me back into the hobby last year, is that I am a Scout Leader
and my co-leader (a private pilot) and I decided to use Aviation as our
troop specialty. This led to a series of projects for the troop that
included: a HLG (200% Pipsqueak glider), rubber power (Flying Squirrel),
sort-of-a-semi-scale-like-not-so-good-glider (Wright Glider by F. Scott),
CLG that-flew-too-good-for-our-small-gym (Phantom F4) and some model
rockets. Additionally the Scouts visited a fantastic R/C fun fly and two
aviation museums. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and never completed the
C/L sections . . . but a good time was had by all.

Over the past year I have built a variety of models ranging from Bill Hannon
and Walt Mooney as well as three C/L and two R/C models.

Currently the building board is crowded with a Hanger Rat, a Guillow's Bird
Dog, a Corben Super-Ace (40"ws, electric R/C) and a Dumas Pilatus Porter
(39" ws, electric R/C).

Although not yet an FAC member, I have on occasion flown indoor F/F with the
Tigertown FAC Sqdn #40 in Burlington, Ontario, Canada.

Best Regards,
Christopher Singleton

Subject: [Indoor_Construction] new member role call?

We've had a windfall of new members in last couple months. Many
mention their indoor FF interest on the Yahoo application, but then say
nothing else to group. Would be nice for anyone who has never posted
to check in, mention what you are building now, or have built, or are
gathering materials for *to* build. Indoor FF, of course. Even if
this only triggers subsequent private email exchanges, that's good.
thanks,
Mark F1diddler
