I learned then "bend but not beak" technique from Cezar Banks and John
Hutchison, our experts out West.

Of course success depends on the quality of the wood in the tail boom
and the instinctive touch. However, I was taught to breath heavily on
the segement that is to be bent ahead of time. Apparently the moist
hot breath enhances the ability to coerce the balsa to the correct
shape without breaking. I am sure you know all this but I say it for
benefit of the other less experienced members of this group.

Thanks for the tip about reinforcing (and repairing) a break with
cyano acrylate (CA), i.e super glue, aka ZAP-A-GAP.
