My version of the spreadsheet doesn't have the line for "Power needed for level flight".

I set up several columns of identical info so I could vary the CG and see the effects without having to remember all the data. The farther back the CG goes the slower the flight velocity gets but also the sink rate as a glider goes up and the time prediction goes down. The SSM is still 24% with the ballast moved back 6".

I'll try to experiment with it a little in January. Some of my kids were doing 3 minutes with B division models a couple of years back so I'm sure there is some more performance available in this one.

  Bill,

"The design program shows better times with a forward CG but that doesn't guarantee that real life performance is going to match the prediction"

Forget line 77 watch sink speed as glider (ft/sec), flight speed ft/sec and Power needed for level flight.
