what Nick said was a (translated) quote from the original Latin : Morituri
te salutant. The story is that at one time one of the gladiators said this
before entering the battle field in the Colloseum in Rome. His remark should
not be taken literally, he was just playing with words ( Rome = Romania,
Colliseum = Saltmine, die = breaking models). Your son has been to the
saltmine before and I was there on his first visit and he will just doing
fine. I wish I could be there too, but not this year.
Keep us updated if you get any news from there.

It took me while get the point. Romania is by no way _that_ bad, nor have
I heard the salt mine to be. But then I recalled where the cite is from,
it is as gladiators greeted ceasar before entering the arena. SO I guess
