That would probably work okay - especially if you used a little center dihedral also. I'm probably going to change to an easier to build wing that will have less total area of covering and less wood. The proportions will be similar to Larry Coslick's wings. I'll probably have a straight trailing edge and a small taper on the leading edge at the tips. I'm really not sure if it would be best to use straight tips instead to get the wing loading a little lower. The wing will probably have some sort of endplates - most likely out of sheet balsa for simplicity and reliability.

One thing that I noticed in my design runs is that the tail needs to be extremely light. My optimum design has the CG 3/8" behind the TE of the wing and that requires that all of the ballast be placed on the nose and that the stab and tailboom be kept very light. This is with a 14" motor stick and a 9" tailboom.

Bill, thanks for sharing that with me. I will be looking forward to
reviewing your drawing. Being a beginner, I drew up my wing tips with
1 1/2 inch rise and a 2 inch run. and my stab tips with with a 1 1/2
rise and a 1 1/2 inch run. Sounds like I may have to rethink that.

massaging. The wing is currently showing a 10 1/4" center section with
5" tips and 1 1/2" of dihedral under each tip. It has 9 ribs including
the tips. All of this may change.
