I have been thumbing thru Charles Mendenhall's book "The Air Racer" trying to
find a suitable subject to build for indoor competition. The three views in
this book are great for picking subjects with good proportions, however without
color drawings &/or color photos, I am having a hard time visualizing what
the model will look like in real life. The new book "Aircraft of Air Racing's
Golden Age" by Robert Hirsch sounds like just what I need (1200 photos, color
photos, color artwork, etc.) however at $85 including shipping it is too
expensive for me. Unfortunately, the local library does not have it & cannot borrow a
copy either. Is there another reference book on Air Racers with a lot of
color illustrations that you would recommend that my library could probably obtain?
Yes, I have tried the Internet.
