There is already in place a time honored method to become a "non-beginner" and to advance to higher levels of the sport. Here's basically how it works:

You pick a place to start and you start.

When someone beats you you ask how the heck did they do that.

If they won't tell you, ask someone else.

If they do tell you how they did it, then LISTEN. You don't hjave to do it their way but at least have the courtesy to listen and try to understand what they are saying.

If you can't find anyone to ask, then look for stuff to read. In these modern times you can search the internet for stuff to read.

Build, study, keep records, ask questions, think about what you are doing. Try to avoid doing stupid things. (this one is hard)

Before you know it, you're going to find people asking you how the heck you did that!

Simple. Rewarding.
