That was my thought also. It doesn't seem like there would be that much variation in a roll.

  Could this be a scale error due to static buildup on the film? I was alerted to this possible
  problem (when weighing rubber motors) by Jeff Anderson. Since then, I've seen a loop of
  rubber measure as much as 10% greater than its mass according to a mechanical scale.
  Never tried it with film, though.
