Yep, we were all skinnier back then, at 14 I may not have been 5' tall!
I would agree with Don, Pershing is much better for rubber, as it is
an easy scrub. Kent is better for gliders thanks to the peak. In
reading the 87 Nats report, it was the third time the Nats were held
in that building. What made 87 the best was that the scoreboard that
once occupied the center was gone for the first time. That would need
looked into for future events.
It is interesting to look at the records now and see home many are
still listed from July of 1987. One standout is Bill Shailor's Open
Cabin record that still holds at 21:57. A good indicator of the
qaulity of the building and of Bill's skills.
Kurt, you are right, the fact that the Midwestern States event is not
held in Chicago anymore is a good sign that the buildings are
different :)
