I understood that this forum had much tighter terms of reference
than Don's list - that was the whole point of setting it up. I do
not believe that the topic of hotel rooms/TV/cellphone numbers/time
of arrival has anything to do with indoor duration flying.

I'm sure you'll shoot me down for this - fire away!

Gentlemen, (and lady)
I sympathize with both sides. (Not that there exactly exist two
*opposing* sides anyhow, but...)

An integral part of serious indoor happens to be ROAD TRIP. This is,
for many of us, an exciting aspect of indoor flying--going to,
getting to a contest far away. Personally, I felt the excitement of
the recent Kent travel chat, and wanted to just "let it slide."
Perhaps others would feel the excitement, and decide to go to a far
away indoor contest for the first time. Besides, these are the guys
REALLY building and flying indoor, and IF everyone who wanted to only
talk and read about indoor were really DOING it, there wouldn't be
too much friction at all, IMO.

However, Nick from England reminds us that our indoorist members
across the Atlantic Ocean (or wherever) wonder why they should have
to read about one member giving another member his cell phone
number! Valid point.

MY SOLUTION. Two weeks before a regional contest, and four weeks
before a "big" contest, I will from now on automatically create a
sidebar Yahoo discussion group dedicated to the logistics of THAT
contest or event. I will ask the first three or four or five signees
to be co-moderators so that membership (for everyone else wanting to
jump over) should be almost instantaneous with one or two mouse
clicks. In these sidebar groups, please feel free to yuck it up, and
you may not even have to check your pistols at the saloon door.
Whaddya think?

Kent results! Anyone who has them, please post. Or please give
highlights from memory, anyone. Thanks.
