I am not sure I think we should exclude those who have won anything before.
In our club, if we got a new member & he built this "beginners model" he would
be the only one flying it, if we held a competition. It might also be hard to
get the experienced flyers to build the model if they couId not fly it in the
contest. The rules for the event/model should be restrictive enough that a
beginner with a little practice & mentoring can be reasonably competitive. Just
some food for thought.
