Cat. 1 and & 2 glider weights (wings)?

I'm finding a bit of confusion with what the wing weights and ultimate
model weights should be for various gliders I'll be testing soon.

My targets for wing weights have been about 1 gram for a Cat. 1 (25-
26') ceiling; and for the Cat. 2 ceiling there seems to be some
conflict in "ideal" wing weight.

The Cat. 2 ceiling is 37'. It sounds like most of the numbers for
weights I've seen on this list are for sites of slightly over Cat. 1
max. Or, are you guys pushing the minimum weight and not reaching full
height?

Second, can fuse weight compensate for somewhat light wing to get
higher altitude?

Thanks,
Bruce
(with a half-dozen wings and fuses... Which to which?)
