When I was making the curved tips for my F1D, I purposely made the
forms with more curve to compensate for the 'spring back.' 10 to
15%-ish (not an exact science here) more curve should be good. It
depends on the properties of the wood and the shape you're looking for.
Using the ribs to maintain the curve generally puts them under
tension, which can be bad if they're really thin.
